Going live on Wednesday, July 12, Season 4 Reloaded of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone will be kicking off. Now, mere hours after that leak, Activision itself has shown more of what can be expected in its two ongoing CoD games later this week. Earlier today, a prominent leak happened to detail many of the specifics involved with the highly rumored collab between Call of Duty and The Boys. That's not to say these two games don't have heavy themes of their own, however.Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone will soon be crossing over with Prime Video's hit TV series, The Boys, as part of Season 4 Reloaded. Besides, some players might want a break from the grim historical reality for something a bit more on the fantasy side. The following two games are not literally set during World War 2 but they deserve mentioning because they are heavily inspired by the setting and conflict. Whatever the reason for their creation, they are all worth playing. Either they are telling an interesting story, trying to honor those who fought, or using a universally known event to move copies. The games below are not necessarily advertising themselves as replicating the experience of war.
Games are entertainment, after all, and there's nothing fun about going through war. It's not really something anyone would want to experience, either. What if they still want some games set during the same period, though? Still, this might be enough to convince gamers to pick it up and give it a try. It still has the same level of polish most entries in the series have and players are never hard-pressed to find an active lobby for some multiplayer mayhem. That is not to say it is of poor quality or not worth playing, however. Call of Duty: Vanguard is not the most beloved entry in the franchise.
